My Facebook timeline reminded me yesterday that it was exactly a year since I co-led the Ornitholidays tour to Jordan.
Admittedly it was mainly a birding tour but I was taken by some of the ruins we visited, particularly these at Jerash and of course Petra (more of that later).
I found Jordan to be a superb birding location, even if I did spend a lot of time looking across the border to Israel with envy.
